Flower beds weeded, pruned and mulched so they hold their shape all year

Professional flower bed maintenance to keep your beds looking their best year round, from pruning every shrub to mulch or rock installation.

Chapter 01

What goes wrong in a neglected bed

Beds rarely fail all at once. Weeds start pushing through a thin layer of mulch, shrubs grow past the windows and over the walk, and the edge where the bed meets the lawn slowly melts into grass. By the time it bothers you, the bed has stopped looking planned.

The fix is rarely replacing everything. Most of the time the plants are fine and what they need is a crew that clears the weeds, cuts back what has outgrown its spot, and puts a clean line around the whole thing. One customer put the result in a sentence: “My flowerbeds went from sad & droopy to healthy and happy!”

How a bed cleanup goes

The order of work is simple. Weeds come out first, roots and all where possible. Shrubs are pruned and shaped so they sit inside the bed instead of leaning over it. Landscape fabric goes down where it will help hold weeds back, then fresh mulch or rock goes on, and the edge gets recut so the bed has a crisp boundary against the lawn.

One reviewer on Pureleaf's reviews page described an extensive spring trimming and cleanup with new landscaping paper, mulch and some new plants, and added that Joel suggested plantings that suited the space and blended with what was already there. Two other customers on the same page describe their jobs as finished in one day. How long your bed takes depends on its size and how far behind it has fallen, and Joel will tell you when he looks at it.

Chapter 03

Mulch, rock and what goes under it

Mulch holds moisture, keeps weeds down and gives the bed a fresh look, but it breaks down and needs topping up. Rock does not break down, which is why some customers switch. One reviewer had Pureleaf change their beds from mulch to rock and repair the damage to the yard left behind by pool construction.

Whichever you pick, the layer underneath matters. Fabric keeps soil and weeds from mixing into the cover, and a neat recut edge keeps mulch or rock from spilling onto the grass. Red and brown mulch, river rock and white rock borders all show up in photos of Pureleaf's finished beds across Rogers, Springdale and Bentonville.

Keeping a bed right through the season

A cleaned-up bed stays that way when someone keeps weeding it. Regular visits catch weeds while they are small, trim new growth before shrubs lose their shape, and tell you when the mulch has thinned enough to need a fresh layer. Pureleaf also offers weekly lawn service, so one crew can look after both.

To start, call or text (479) 601-2057 and send a photo of the bed if you can. Pureleaf quotes in three steps: send a text, chat on the phone, receive a quote. The crew works in Fayetteville, Bella Vista, Lowell and the rest of Northwest Arkansas.

“The workers were all efficient, professional, and pleasant.” Pamela Satterfield, from Pureleaf's reviews page.
